Map of the Process of Obtaining Employment

ASSESSMENT

Begin by taking stock and inventory. What skills do you have to offer, what kind of working conditions to you prefer and other questions that help form a picture of you.

ANALYZE YOUR SKILLS

Put all of these things together to create a picture of yourself. You should have a list of skills that are clustered and categorized so that you can apply them in different resumes for different positions.

Remember that you are not a teacher, a scientist, a baker or a welder. You are a person with skills that can be utilized in many different ways.

-----Use the skills at the top of your list, or your most preferred skills and accomplishments to create your 60 second me.

-----Use this at the end of an interview.

----Take this with you in case you are asked to fill out an application. You will have all the information you need.

----Employers do not like generic resumes. They want you to have focus.

---PREPARE1 PREPARE! PREPARE!
