Orange County Employment Development Department (EDD) At EDD, a Veteran can register in CalJobs, fax resumes to employers, access Internet Job Services, receive referrals to education and training, and inquire about workshops. Case Management, (see glossary) is available according to need. LVERs (Local Veteran Employment Representative) and DVOPs (Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Reps.) can assist qualified Veterans in their search for employment and other services. There is also information available on the Chapter 31, (Disabled Veteran Program). There are EDD Veteran Representatives in Anaheim, La Habra, Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Costa Mesa and Mission Viejo. Veterans will be guided through the creation of a usable resume and/or a CalJobs resume to be viewed by employers, online. Wordprocessors are available to create resumes and cover letters. Veterans can take advantage of workshops in resume writing, interviewing and job search techniques.

Anaheim Vet Center 859 S. Harbor Blvd, Anaheim CA 92805-5157 (714) 776-0161 The Vet Centers are community based and are the arm of the Department of Veteran Affairs. Eligible veterans can receive individual or group counseling, Marital/Family, crisis intervention, women veteran issues, alcohol and chemical dependency counseling and referrals. EDD veteran staff are available at scheduled times.

Information on Unemployment and Disability Insurance is available there, and much, much more. The One Stop is made up of many public and private agencies, too numerous to mention.

B Santa Ana, CA 92705 (714) 567-7450 Mon.-Fri. 8:00am-5:00pm The Orange County Veteran Service Officer, Ron Menendez, is the liason between the Veteran and the Veterans Administration with matters such as home loans, pension and medical, burial benefits and more. Ron is also your contact for Service Connected Disability information. He can help you with many Veteran issues. Take a copy of your DD-214, if you can't find it they will help you get it.
